EDUCATION & TRAINING

DR. HAJIRA HUSAIN

Dr. Haj is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for her Undergraduate studies as well as Dental school.  She received her post graduate training at Stony Brook University Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C.  Dr. Haj previously worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU’s College of Dentistry.

Dr. Haj believes the key to a lifetime of successful oral health begins at an early age. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), all children should have a dental “home” by age 1. Positive routine dental visits along with parental reinforcement from the start will guide children in the right direction to keep their mouths healthy, happy and pain free.

Dr. Haj is a strong believer in preventive care including dental sealants to protect the chewing surfaces of all back teeth. Sealants coupled with excellent homecare can lead to better long term oral health.

Dr. Haj follows the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s guidelines when taking x-rays and uses state of the art digital radiography devices that deliver minimal radiation.  Dr. Haj only believes in taking x-rays when they are warranted according to the AAPD.

Dr. Haj’s philosophy for treating young patients:  “I believe in treating all children as unique individuals in a caring and fun manner. Dental anxiety and fear are very common at a young age and I pride myself on taking the time to alleviate those fears with patience, understanding, and the highest level of dental care.”
